BERLIN
The collection BERLIN achieves what only the city that inspired this unconventional design can: creating something beautiful from the symbiosis of contradictions. It unites tradition and innovation, classic form and new accents. The convex-concave interplay of the plate rims and the reproduction of the perfect spherical shape in “ pot ” and lid handle—in contrast to the characteristic inverted handle—demonstrate the compatibility of opposites, just as its designer, the Italian Enzo Mari, once did. Developed in 1996 by Mari in collaboration with the designers at KPM Berlin , the series is distinguished by its functional character, which earned it the “iF Design Award.” Gone are the days of rigidly defined shapes and norms at the table—the collection offers as much creative freedom as its namesake, the city of Berlin.

CANTO FARBRAND BLACK
With Canto “ colored rim ” in black, the “ BERLIN ” collection takes on a striking graphic silhouette. The dark accent frames the white porcelain forms like a delicate sketch and highlights the interplay of clarity, tension, and understated elegance. Plates, cups, and small bowls thus come together as a modern ensemble for minimalist table settings.

SIMPLE PLATINUM ACCENTS
A delicate line of genuine polished platinum, skillfully drawn by hand with a brush, lends the " BERLIN " collection in " decor " 11 a touch of luxury. The silvery, shimmering band frames the perfect shape of the plates, cups, and bowls, uniting them into a subtly radiant ensemble on tables and dining settings.
COLORS OF BERLIN
The COLORS OF BERLIN mugs reflect the close connection between the porcelain manufacturer and its hometown. Whether green like the Tiergarten, “ blue ” like the lakes of Köpenick, sandy hues like the popular beach in Wannsee, or anthracite like the trendy Mitte district—as a tribute to the urban manufacturing district, the “ BERLIN ” (breakfast cup ), designed by Enzo Mari, comes in iridescent luster colors. These colors shimmer with as much variety as the metropolis itself, where they are still passionately handcrafted today by the “ KPM Berlin .”

ENZO MARI
Enzo Mari is one of the most intellectual and influential international designers of the second half of the 20th century. In collaboration with KPM studio and current chief designer Thomas Wenzel, Mari revolutionized manufacturing processes and design guidelines, creating a collection of vases between 1993 and 1996, as well as the design classic BERLIN.
