THE EDITION ““BLUE-GREEN CRYSTAL GLAZE” CELEBRATES THE RETURN OF A HISTORIC CRAFT”

With the strictly limited-edition “Crystal Glaze Blue-Green,” the Berlin-based “ Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur ” brings a time-honored glazing technique into the present. In the manufactory’s in-house laboratory, Dr. Hamid Zadeh, head of the KPM laboratory and the body shop, has reimagined the art of crystal glazes—and lent the iconic Krukenform, Halle 3, and Zwiebelform vases a unique luster. Through an elaborate development process, KPM Berlin has created a lead-free glaze that builds on the foundations of the manufactory’s crystal glazing established in 1898.

"EVERY GLAZE IS A SMALL EXPERIMENT. IT THRIVES ON CHANCE, TEMPERATURE, AND TIME."

- DR. ZADEH

The liquid glaze is applied by hand using a finely tuned spraying process. As it is applied, each piece develops a unique surface texture—no two objects are alike. The vases are then fired at approximately 1,300 degrees Celsius, and each piece becomes a gleaming, one-of-a-kind creation.
The vases, which shimmer in an iridescent blue-green, combine contemporary materials research with centuries-old craftsmanship, making them unique collector’s items and modern design objects.

The iconic vases— Krukenform, Halle 3, and the onion-shaped vase—shine in an iridescent blue-green hue, combining contemporary material research with centuries-old craftsmanship. Each vase is limited to 30 pieces, making it a stunning one-of-a-kind piece and a coveted collector’s item.

The edition is now available in the KPM online shop and at KPM stores .
