KURLAND
Their shape is a homage to the ideals and design of the ancient world. Objectivity, austerity and symmetry combine to create a noble, cohesive and timeless form - and probably the most important Berlin collection of classicism.

MULTICOLORED, RICH GOLD DETAILS, MINT GREEN BACKGROUND
For the “Multicolore” design, the master painters at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin adorn the classicist band of the “ KURLAND ” collection with shades ranging from pastel gray to royal blue—as timeless and multifaceted as the collection itself.

MULTICOLOR, SIMPLE PLATINUM TRIM, GRAY BACKGROUND
In the Multicolore design, featuring a gray background and simple platinum accents, " KURLAND " displays its classical austerity with a particularly serene elegance. Delicate color accents, the gray background, and a fine line of genuine glossy platinum highlight the collection’s embossed band.

PETER BIRON, DUKE OF KURLAND
In 1790, Peter Biron, Duke of Kurland, commissioned the Berlin Porcelain Manufactory ( Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur ) to design a magnificent dinner service. After the courtly Rococo style, with its shell and vine motifs, a return to antiquity became the dominant stylistic trend around 1770. In keeping with this new aesthetic, the Berlin manufactory created a collection in a strictly neoclassical style called the “Service mit antiquer Kante” (Service with an Antique Edge). In honor of its patron, it was later KURLAND renamed.
